Today's Reiki Insights for 2/6/18

for 2/6/18

Hello Reiki Friends!

During today's Reiki session, I just couldn't get a song out of my head that I haven't heard for a number of years.  It's called Enjoy the Ride by a band called Morcheeba and it's a lovely, relaxing bit of electronic music that I used to sing over and over in my head.  But as I said, I haven't thought about this song in years so the fact that it came flooding fully back to me made it a pretty clear sign that there was something important in there for today.

The chorus goes like this:

But oh, the road is long
The stones that you are walking on
Have gone

With the moonlight to guide you
Feel the joy of being alive
The day that you stop running
Is the day that you arrive

And the night that you got locked in
Was the time to decide
Stop chasing shadows, just enjoy the ride

What immediately struck me was how quickly my hackles raised at that final line: "Stop chasing shadows, just enjoy the ride."  My first thought was:  "Easy for you to say - sometimes things are tough and we can't just 'enjoy' it!"

Yup, I was yelling at a song in my

So as I continued our Reiki session, I just sat with that reaction and what it meant when it came to me: yes, sometimes we can't just enjoy the ride, but sometimes we can.

It's so easy while we walk this spiritual path to become obsessed with scanning all the minute details of our lives and analyzing ourselves, our inner-child, our stars, our deepest consciousness and even our subconscious for clues, answers, and deeper meaning...

Phew, that's...just a lot to do.

Now maybe today things are just rough for you.  If so, know that it's moments like this that our group is here to support you and send all the loving energy we have to lift you up.

But if today isn't particularly rough - if it's actually good or even just pretty ok, what would it look like if you left the deeper analysis and self-reflection for tomorrow.  What if you let your astrology and your sacral chakra and your inner-child take care of themselves for a day?

What if for today, you just enjoyed the ride?

With Love and Reiki,
